About the Founder

Hello! My name is Erika. My passion for learning and educating stemmed in Brazil where I earned a master's degree in Administration, a postgraduate degree in Business Administration, a degree in Tourism and a degree in Portuguese and English Language Arts. I also completed a course in College Teaching.
I started my career as an event planner and organizer. I managed the logistics of a corporate university and then worked as a training consultant in the Human Resources area for a multinational company. While working in HR, I developed training and people management skills. It was during this period that I discovered my passion for the world of creating and facilitating courses.
In August 2015, my family and I moved to the north Dallas area. In August of 2017, I organized a volunteer group of mothers and myself to teach children Portuguese until December of 2018. Soon after forming this group, I was inspired to start the Intercultural Language Center for others to learn the Portuguese language while also exploring the vibrant Brazilian culture! It became my job and my hobby!
I was born and raised in the city of São Paulo, Brazil. I am married and I have 2 children. I love to travel. I love Brazil and I am also very interested in other cultures. I appreciate, value and respect diversity and I encourage interculturality in everything I do! Now you can already guess why the name Intercultural, right? I love to learn and to teach while sharing my passion of the Portuguese language with others!
